Thai Yoga Bodywork is performed on a mat (futon) on the floor; both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing allowing ease of movement and flexibility. Rhythmic motions, palming and thumbing along the body’s energy lines are combined with gentle stretching and breathwork. Thumbs, hands, elbows and even feet and legs are used to gently guide the recipient into various yoga postures. No oils or creams are used. The receiver is put into a variety of positions during the course of the massage. Legs and feet of the giver can be used to hold the body or limbs of the recipient. In other positions, hands hold the body, while the feet do the massaging action. A Thai Yoga Bodywork session typically lasts 1½- 2 hours and usually involves working with the client’s entire body.
